Dear SheforShe Community,
As I write this letter, my heart swells with gratitude and a bit of humor about the journey that led me here. I’ve always had this drive to see women thrive—it’s like an indescribable force that’s been with me forever. I’m not sure how to label this drive, but it’s always been there. I understand that various factors can influence this thriving or even halt it altogether, but my passion for supporting women has never wavered. For years, I’ve wanted to motivate and uplift my fellow women with whatever resources, encouragement, or prayers I have. I’ve pondered these thoughts, asked my Maker tough questions about the “how” and “why” of this passion, and marveled at why helping women brings me such deep fulfillment. You should see the enthusiasm with which I fill out forms for webinars or events that empower women—whether virtual or in-person, I’d risk it all to attend and then come back excitedly sharing what I’ve learned with my friends.
As the years have passed, my passion has only grown clearer and more refined. Even now, I don’t write to you as someone who has it all figured out or who has conquered every challenge. I come as a kindred spirit, ready to say “yes” to God’s call and use what I have to make a difference. This endeavor is not born out of perfection but out of obedience to God’s plans for my life—a leap forward despite lingering doubts. I’ve learned that purpose has a way of taking up residence in your heart without asking for permission.
